A short hike along the Durphy Creek Trail from the Richardson's Grove Campground along the "Avenue of the Giants" section of Highway 101 will bring you to this setting. Do you feel both the invitation and the apprehension the image emotes? Maybe there is a bear ahead. This spot was impacted by flooding and mud slides, but restoration efforts have tried hard to retain the area's charm.
